Mission Statement
The Providence Foundation of Law and Leadership seeks to empower students to excel in advocacy and leadership through intense training sessions, educational presentations, and community support.
Who We Are
The Providence Foundation was organized to provide a solid foundation for lifetime success to students desiring to learn leadership, trial advocacy and mock trial skills regardless of their financial circumstances and to provide scholarship funds to students who excel in mock trial competitions. Since our inception, the programs we sponsor have grown to include not only high school students and mock trial competitions, but law students, and new lawyers.
The Providence Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping students develop skills in law and leadership; many of these students are inner-city or underprivileged. Funding for Providence Foundation is provided by private donations and grants. Complete information is available in our annual report.
What We Do
We support educational programs that help students develop communication, critical analysis, and leadership skills through various activities including trial advocacy. Our goal is to teach good skills that are then tested in competition. We believe preparing for and participating in competition builds character. Mock Trial provides a unique opportunity to test the skills students develop at the Academy, such as problem-solving, advocacy and teamwork.
Advanced training is available for undergraduate and law students emphasizing the critical skills they will need to excel in the courtroom and as leaders in their communities.
The Providence Foundation also raises scholarship funds for students who excel in Mock Trial competitions and for those unable to meet classroom tuition requirements.
